Patsy Jean Rhodes

Patsy Jean Rhodes, 84, of Anna, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, at home, surrounded by family. She put her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and has gone to her eternal home. 

She was born on July 26, 1939. She was the daughter of Floyd and Lovena Hileman. 

She was a wife, mother and grandmother. She married Harley Gene Rhodes on Jan. 27, 1962. They shared 61 years of marriage together. 

She loved everyone. She was known for her hard work and beautiful smile, even through her pain and suffering. 

She loved children and served the preschool department at her church, Anna Heights Baptist, for over 20 years. 

She loved crafting and sharing the things she made. She loved gardening, raising flowers and serving others. She retired from the Clyde L. Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna. 

She is survived by her husband, Harley Rhodes of Anna; children Trena Hardin of Anna, Melanie (Mark) Mattheis of Anna, Jeff (Wendy Bird) Rhodes of Cobden and Rod (Amanda) Rhodes of Cobden; 12 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris) Sarka, Sarah Mattheis, Anna (Logan Sherrill) Mattheis, Jonathan Mattheis, Renee (Megan) Nadeau, Era (Jordan) Fuller, Jesse Hardin, Kalyn Rhodes, Grace Rhodes, Elle Mason, Lillian Mason and Megan Rhodes; and many other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lovena and Floyd Hileman; and her sister Joan (Hileman) Day.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
