Opal Ulrich
Opal Ulrich, 94, of Anna, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Integrity Healthcare in Anna.
She was born on Feb. 24, 1929, in Karnak, the daughter of John and Ethel Little Inman.
She married Joseph Augustine Ulrich on Nov. 8, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2001.
Mrs. Ulrich is survived by her daughter-in-law, Jenan Ulrich of Dongola; grandson James Joseph Ulrich of St. Louis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Ulrich; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Darris Ayers; a son, Daniel Joseph Ulrich; and two sisters, Alice Goins and Edna Tapley.
She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anna and was very active in her church before her health declined. She was also an active member in the Anna-Jonesboro Garden Club, the Poetry Club and the Sewing Club.
She was an amazing baker, she baked every day and always for any occasion she was always asked to bring her famous cake.
In earlier years Opal worked alongside her husband Joe in his construction business building houses. She also worked as the bookkeeper for several years when they owned and operated the White Horse in Jonesboro.
Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anna, with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment was in the Anna Cemetery.
