Opal Joy Osman
Opal Joy Osman, 98, of Anna, and formerly of Dongola, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1920, in Carlisle, Ark., the daughter of James Lee and Eliza Leona Beggs Waters.
She married Wayne E. Osman on Sept. 13, 1944. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Terry B. (Sharon) Osman of Anna; four grandchildren, Tia (Thad) Brown, Jamie (Kevin) Toole, Shane (Jennifer) Osman and Eric (Janice) Osman; seven great-grandchildren, Catlin (Luke) Hodnefield, Cassidy Brown, Josiah Brown, Bryce Osman, Gavin Osman, Addison Osman and Avery Osman; a daughter-in-law; Jasmin Osman of Louisville, Ky.; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne E. Osman; a son, Jerry W. Osman; brothers Carroll and Cecil “Arkie” Waters; and a sister Tressie Dallas.
She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola for many years.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. LaRue Parr officiating.
Interment was in the Dongola American Legion Cemetery.
