Norma Jean Carlisle
Norma Jean Carlisle, 77, of Cobden, died at 6:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
She was born on April 20, 1942, in Chicago, the daughter of Henry Kie and Marie Elsie Horvath Carlisle.
She loved shopping for antiques, enjoyed traveling, loved hunting and going to yard sales. But most of all she loved being with her family and living life to the fullest.
She is survived by her Significant Other, Gary Stangle of Cobden; five children, Kim Eddleman of Dongola, Shawn Pickett of Auburn, Mass., Kelly (Kenneth) Stevens of Murphysboro, Patrick (Claire) Downing of North Berwick, Maine, and April (Christopher) Tysor of Portland, Texas;10 grandchildren, Caylee and Colton Christman of Portland, Texas, Ashlee (Craig) Pizzotti of Massachusetts, Austin Pickett of Massachusetts, Dustin Hoffman of McHenry, Kayla (Dalton) Clarke of Beaufort, S.C., Holly and Kimberly Downing of Maine, Victoria (Toby) Scott of Herrin and Gregory (Michelle) Stevens of Herrin; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan (Lazaro) Montanez of Naples, Fla.; a brother, Jimmy Carlisle of Dongola; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Carol LaMargo, Katie Chavis and Kathy Carlisle; a brother, Frank Carlisle; and a son-in-law, Larry Eddleman.
Funeral services were at noon Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in the Cobden City Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
