Michael Ray

Michael Ray, 59, of Anna, and formerly of Tamms, died on June 6, 2023, at his home. 

He was born on Sept. 7, 1963, in St. Louis, the son of Charles Mason and JoAnn Halverson Ray.

Mr. Ray served his community well. He proudly and enthusiastically served the City of Tamms on the fire department. He was a member of the former Tamms Methodist Church, where he served his Lord. 

He was a man about town and any time there was an event in Tamms, he was there. 

After his mother died in 2017, he moved to Anna, where he was a regular at Kiki’s Coffee House. 

He is survived by many friends, relatives and acquaintances, who will remember him fondly for his service. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Silinzy, and his father, Charles.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Brent Gordon officiating.

Interment followed the funeral services at St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.

Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
