Michael Gene Youngblood

 Michael Gene Youngblood, 79, of Mt. Pleasant area, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, at his residence.

He was born on Aug. 31, 1945 to Andrew Pruitt and Vassa Lee Youngblood in Anna, Ill. He married Sharon Liesemeyer and together they spent over 18 years together until her passing in June 2012.

Michael was a proud United States Army Veteran. He worked as an ironworker and retired from the Ironworkers Local 782. 

Michael loved his farm. He was a member of The Masonic Lodge, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, and member of the Ainad Shrine of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine.

Survivors include his sons, Darren (Amanda) Youngblood and Mark (Vickie) Youngblood; daughter, Kenna (Dom) Anderes; grandchildren, Kelsey Youngblood, Hali Youngblood, Tegan Anderes, Kalaina Anderes; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Judy (Lonnie) Dunn.

Along with his parents and wife, Sharon, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Stevens.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at Crain Funeral Home in Anna with Scott Harner officiating. Visitation was held the day of service from at the funeral home. 

Inurnment will be held at a later date at McGinnis Cemetery. 

The cremation of Michael Gene Youngblood will be personally be handled by the staff of Crain Funeral Home.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and/or McGinnis Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Annam is in charge of arrangements.
