Mary Ruth McGowen

Mary Ruth McGowen, 96, of Anna, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at Jonesboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. 

She was born on May 4, 1928, in Anna, the daughter of Willie and Grace Dunn Miles. 

She married Ralph D. McGowen on Oct. 7, 1969. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1995.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Flo) Stanley of Jacksonville, Fla., Carolyn Landis of Makanda, Vickie (John) Moore of Jonesboro, Sandra Nimmo of Vienna and Joe (Misty) Stanley of Paducah, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph McGowen; two brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cobden. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and embroidery. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary McGowen were at noon Friday, Oct. 11, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Interment followed in the Cobden Cemetery.
