Mary Jeanette Walker

Mary Jeanette Walker, 92, died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at her home in Olmsted.

She was born on June 16, 1926, in Tamms, the daughter of Ray and Gladys Aden Hancock.  

She married Gene Robert Walker on July 10, 1950. He preceded her in death on Sept. 28, 2003.

She graduated from Thebes High School in 1944.  She was a member of the Olmsted Methodist Church in Olmsted. She loved to sew and crochet and paint pictures.  

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Kaye (Frederick) Little of Olmsted; a granddaughter, Emily Kathlene Little of Olmsted; brothers Harry Patrick Hancock of Johnston City, John Hiram (Sandra) Hancock of Salem and Joe Michael (Bonita) Hancock of Villa Ridge; a sister, Rae Ann Ward of Olmsted; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brothers, James Raymond Hancock and Simon Byron Hancock.

Funeral services for Mary J. Walker were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, with the Rev. Michael Sharp officiating. Interment was in Liberty Cemetery in Pulaski.  

Memorials can be made to the Olmsted Methodist Church.
