Mary Blakemore

Mary Blakemore, 75, of Olive Branch, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on July 21, 1947, in Bureau County, the daughter of George and Gertrude Abrams Bruer.  

She married Frank Blakemore on June 6, 1967. He survives.

She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years, retiring as postmaster in McClure.  She loved bowling and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Blakemore; son Frank Blakemore Jr.; siblings Elizabeth Marquadt, Barbara (Bill) Burr, Kathy Brantley, John (Robin) Bruer and Patty Crowe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, William.

Graveside services were at noon Wednesday, April 19, at Green Lawn Cemetery in Villa Ridge, with Dick Blakemore officiating.

Memorials can be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms was in charge of arrangements.
