Mariam Hope Manninger
Mariam Hope Manninger, 82, of Crockett, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at the Houston County Nursing Home.
She was born on July 8, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Hobart Garrett Peterson and Jewel Effie McKenzie Peterson.
She worked as a LVN nurse for many years in Houston County. She was an active member and pianist at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by husband of 63 years, John Manninger of Crockett; a son, Robert Paul Manninger and wife, Carolyn of Olney, Texas; a daughter, Pam Ferguson of Bluff Dale, Texas; grandchildren Chance Jordan and wife, Callie of Grapeland, Nathan Manninger and wife, Jaime of Olney, Joshua Manninger and wife, Sara of Roanoke, Ginger Nunn and husband Brent of Moore, Okla.; great-grandchildren Ashlie and Conner Jordan of Crockett, Bryce Nunn of Moore, Okla., Hayden and Skylar Manninger of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Grace Jordan of Grapeland; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Williams of Anna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Hobart and Jewel Peterson; a sister, Ann Kennard; and two brothers, Hobart Peterson and Robert Peterson.
Memorial services for Mariam Hope Manninger were at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Gibson and Dr. Paul Carlin officiating.
