Lula May Manus
Lula May Manus, 86, of Marion, and formerly of Anna, died on June 2, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital
She was born July 20, 1936, the daughter of Edith May and Lee Ellis Mowery.
She was married to Robert Manus for over 20 years. He preceded her in death.
She enjoyed working in the yard and took pride in her flowers. She loved her family, and her dog Harley. She was employed by Florsheim Shoe Co. in Anna for over 35 years until its closure.
She is survived by her children, Debra Dailey (Scott Dailey) of Havana, Ill., and Robert (Bobby) Spier (Joetta Spier) of Marion; grandchildren Crystal Wright Gurley (Carlos Bumper Gurley) of Jonesboro, Michel Wright of Sikeston, Mo., and Alexa Spier of Colorado; great-grandchildren Drew Gurley, Cooper Gurley, Caden Gurley, John Robert Wright and Rodney James Wright; sisters Norma Stamp (Don Stamp), Deloris Browning (Harlan Browning) and Joyce Middleton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a brother, John Mowery; a sister, Bernett Starks; and her former husband, Robert Spier, father of Debra and Bobby.
Funeral services were at noon Thursday, June 8, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Scott Dailey officiating.
Interment followed the funeral services at the Anna City Cemetery.
