Luke Sargent
Luke Sargent, born on Aug. 16, 1982, in Peoria, passed away on Jan. 16, 2025, in his hometown of Jonesboro. He was the beloved son of Sue Sargent and John Fouche.
Luke grew up in a large family with four brothers, Mathew Fouche, James Sargent, Tim Fouche and John Fouche, and three sisters Nicole Gaines, Ashley Fouche and Brittany Fouche.
Luke had a bond with his sister Nicole, brother Mathew, mother Sue and his nieces Aleah, Mya, Madelyn, Jalice and nephew Alijah that shaped his life.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mathew Fouche; maternal grandparents James and Darlene Sargent; and paternal grandmother Beatrice Fouche.
Luke was a graduate of Shawnee Community College, where he earned an associate’s degree. Luke pursued his passions with enthusiasm as an employee of Dollar General in Jonesboro.
He was known for his love of fishing, A dedicated Yankees fan and cheering for the New York Giants during football season with his best friend Bruce and enjoyed the nostalgia of 1980s music and movies. Luke also had an appreciation for video games and was a fan of Superman, and attending Comic Con. Luke also enjoyed the hobby of coin collecting.
Luke’s interests brought joy to those who knew him, creating memories with his family filled with laughter was so important to him from cousins to aunts and uncle and his grandpa Sargent he shared many joyful experiences. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, the community who met him at the Dollar General store and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services for Luke Sargent were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment followed in the Anna Cemetery.
