Lowell Clyde Dodson
Lowell Clyde Dodson, 86, of Lawrenceville, died on April 9, 2020, at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville.
Mr. Dodson was born on July 6, 1933, in Elco, the son of Clyde Dodson and Vertus Dickerson Dodson.
He graduated from Tamms High School in Tamms, and then from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
He went on to earn his master’s degree from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
He was a retired minister and counselor, as well as author of a booklet he wrote which was titled “The Forward Look.” He recently led a small group Bible study.
He was one of eight children, seven of whom are living: Bob Dodson (Donna), Ron Dodson (Ruth Ann), Judy Jackson (Lendal), Sandy Ross (Dean), Lilly Stone, Shirley DeWeese and Sylvia Woods (Terry).
He is survived by daughters Judy Dodson, Mary Eastes and Elizabeth Breland (Bryan); a son, Mark Dodson (Lora); five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Private interment was Saturday, April 11, at St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
