Lois ‘Gabby’ Dickerson
Lois “Gabby” Dickerson, 83, of Anna, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1934, in Reynoldsville, the daughter of Wayne Carl “Kate” and Ivory Wilson Wright.
She married Lester M. Dickerson in 1979 in Ware. He preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 2005.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Neil) Greenwood of Mt. Vernon; a grandson, Tom (Wendy) Greenwood of Maria Stein, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Laney Greenwood; three brothers, Bill and Jim Wright, both of Ware, and Richard Wright of Dexter, Mo.; eight sisters, Sondra Clover of East Cape Girardeau, Ruth Allen of Dayton, Ohio, Beverly Ellis of Grand Tower, Sharon Smith of Doniphan, Mo., Vicki Wilson of Ware, Debbie Wright of Cobden, and Audrey and Karen Wright, both of Ware; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and special friends Artiena and Mike Jones of Anna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester M. Dickerson; and one sister, Barb Foster.
She was a member of the Saratoga Church for many years. She loved her church and all the people she worshiped with.
She was a hard worker, she waited tables, cleaned homes for others and worked in meat processing. She loved cooking, crocheting and in her later years enjoyed doing jigsaw and word search puzzles.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with David Nave officiating. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola.
