Larry Bruce ‘Bo’ McIntosh
Larry Bruce “Bo” McIntosh, 68, of Anna, and formerly of Johnston City, died suddenly while on vacation with his family, on Oct. 7, 2023, in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1954, in Herrin, the son of Aston “Bud” and Pauline Vick McIntosh.
He was a 1974 graduate of Johnston City High School. He was retired, having been employed at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau as a custodian.
Mr. McIntosh was of the Christian faith and formerly pastored. He was a member of New Beginnings Church in Anna.
He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, traveling and attending JCHS football games. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and he also enjoyed eating.
Mr. McIntosh is survived by his two daughters, Amber (Ryan) Wachter and Ashley McIntosh, both of Jonesboro; three grandchildren, Addison McIntosh, Mayson Smith and Ava Jane Wachter; significant other Karen Moss of Anna; siblings Brenda (Ronnie) Litton of Johnston City, Bobby McIntosh of West Frankfort and Randy McIntosh of Johnston City; former spouse Melissa Smith; nieces and nephews Jennifer Lannom, Whitlea McIntosh, Ashton McIntosh, Kristy McIntosh and Aston McIntosh; great-nieces and nephews Kolton Lannom, Bryce Albright, Maximum McIntosh, Maliki McIntosh and great-niece on the way Kay’oira Jachelle Patton. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Sox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Buddy McIntosh, Beverly McIntosh, Gary McIntosh, Jane McCaleb and Pete McIntosh; and a niece, Nikki McIntosh.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct.12 at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City, with Pastor Lonnie Lewis officiating. Interment followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.
Memorials can be made to New Beginnings Church in Anna. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
