Judy Williams

Judy Williams

Judy Williams was born on May 31, 1958, and died at Union County Hospital  in Anna on Monday morning, Aug. 1, 2022, at 8:15 a.m. after years of a hard-fought battle with cancer.

She worked at Our Directions in Herrin from 2005 to 2010, then at JR’s Centre in Anna from 2010 to 2020 and had most recently started working at MAP in Karnak.

She was semi-retired, but still had the “drive” to work in between her cancer treatments.  Just last week, Judy was enjoying her time in retreat, crocheting and joking with her friends.

Years ago, she was also employed at Anna McDonald’s and worked in the lobby. She took her job there very seriously.

She, no doubt, was a hard worker, but her most important role in life was being Crystal’s mom. She doted on Crystal for the last 36 years.

She also had many very close friends at Chamness Care, where she lived for 17 years. Her best friend, Donna, will miss her terribly.

She has vowed to “help take care” of Crystal in Judy’s stead. Judy’s friends and staff who had become like her family will miss her sweet spirit.

A very special thank you to Mary for years of love and support and Brad for most recently caring for Judy.  Along with the amazing staff at Market House, they were her lifelines.

She was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Mill Creek. The church was a shining light for her for many years. The congregation welcomed her, Crystal and Donna with open arms. She truly made an impact on those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Williams and Jacqueline Kovse-Williams.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Williams; sisters Barbara Yrjanson (Columbia, Ill.), Annette-Sissy (Arkansas) andVicky Todd (West Frankfort); brothers Marty Counts (West Frankfort) Steven Woods (Herrin) and Charlie Williams (Thompsonville); as well as her huge Chamness Care family.

Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Tasha Faire and the Rev. Bobby Richardson officiated.
