Joshua B. Baker
Joshua B. Baker, 39, of Murphysboro, died Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
He was born on April 15, 1984, in Westland, Mich., the son of Robert Baker and Starr Morse.
He graduated with honors from John A. Logan College in May 2010 with an associate’s degree in applied science heating and air conditioning.
He was a very hard worker. He loved being outside working on landscaping, woodworking, fishing, growing beautiful flowers and gardening.
He professed his faith in Jesus Christ since his youth. He was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church for over 20 years.
He is survived by his six siblings, Jennifer (Josh) Long of Perks, Jasmine (David) Doublin of Karnak, Jovan Rodriquez of Jonesboro, Alicia (Stephen) Cohen of Dongola, Elijah Wisenbaugh of Perks and Samantha (Eric) Byerley of Kevil, Ky.; his foster mother and guardian, Trena Hardin; and many other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his foster father and guardian, David L. Hardin.
Private funeral services were pending. Pastor Mark Mattheis will be officiating.
