Joseph B. Hardin

Joseph B. Hardin, 79, of Cobden, died Monday, April 1, 2019, at Integrity Healthcare in Anna. 

He was born on March 3, 1940, in Whitesville, Ky. 

He married, Ruth Pearson Tellor in May 2008 in Cobden.

Mr. Hardin is survived by his wife, Ruth Hardin of Cobden; five stepdaughters, Marilyn Smith of Cobden, Ruth Fisher of Lebanon, Tenn., Debbie Rendleman of Elk City, Idaho, Dianne Melcher of Hemphill, Texas, and Becky Dressel of Great Falls, Mont.; a son, Chris Hardin of Houston, Texas; a daughter, April Issacson of Chicago; 10 step-grandchildren; two grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion and the Anna Moose Lodge. He retired from the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna after many years of service. He really enjoyed eagle watching and traveling.  

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 5,  at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with Ed Falgout officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery.  

Graveside military rites will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna. 

Friends can call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, April 5.

Memorials can be made to the activity fund at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.
