Jenny Anderson
Jenny Anderson, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at her home that she shared with her partner, Henry Mulder Jr.
She was born on Oct. 16, 1951, in Virginia, Minn., the daughter of Edmund and Marion Naud Anderson.
She had two children, Miles Jaros and Emma Jaros, during her marriage with Rory Jaros.
She came to Carbondale, Illinois, in the 1970s and made it her home. She earned a bachelor’s degree in plant and soil science from Southern Illinois University and worked with vegetable growers in her early career. She eventually took a job at Arnold’s Market in Carbondale, starting with washing apples from Arnold’s Orchards and making apple cider.
Later, Arnold’s Market transitioned to a produce/ grocery store where she worked for 42 years. In addition, she worked with personal care for Theresa Zitter and others.
She retired in 2020 and changed residences to live with Henry Mulder Jr. They enjoyed being together for 18 years.
She is survived by a son, Miles Jaros of Tempe, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Emma and brother Edmund Anderson Jr.
No services are planned. Instead, a gathering for friends to celebrate her life and remember her kind and gentle presence will be announced in the near future.
She is dearly missed by her partner, Henry Mulder Jr., who grieves her loss. He will never forget her and his love for Jenny will live on forever.
