Jennifer 'Jenny' Renee Davis

Jennifer “Jenny” Renee Davis, 42, of Anna, passed away peacefully after a long battle of cancer with her father by her side on Dec. 24, 2023.

For those who knew Jenny, they would describe her as a sweet soul with a heart of gold who made you feel accepted and cared for.  We thank Jenny for being herself: a caring, passionate, strong willed, silly little ray of sunshine with a quirky sense of humor, and a big-hearted human being.  We are blessed that she taught us to not sweat the small stuff and to never turn anyone away.

As a person with a passionate interest in film and cinema, an avid film enthusiast, Jenny had her own cinema library with countless DVDs. There was no need to Google a movie, as she was a subject matter expert giving you an overview, naming the songs, cast members, to include the movies and TV shows each cast members appeared in.

She was a collector of graphic t-shirts, mainly from her favorite movies, cartoons and rock groups.

Upon entering a room, family, friends and clinical staff anticipated the theme of her shirt or water thermos leading to conversations of them recollecting their same passion of a movie, TV show or music group.

Jenny graduated from high school at Yankton, South Dakota.

Jenny was passionate for children, the developmentally disabled, as well as animals.

She attended Shawnee Community College, focusing her career in the Early Childhood program.

She worked at child care centers, as well as RAVE, a Rehabilitation and Vocational Education center.

Growing up, she found her passion by volunteering at various animal shelters.  Some described her as a baby and animal whisperer.

She enjoyed her travels throughout Colorado, Massachusetts and Maine, as well as her getaways with family and closest friends.  She was always up for an adventure.

Jenny was preceded in death by her mother, Donna; brother Matthew “Matt”; grandparents William and Glenda Davis and John Cripps; and aunt Debbie Jackson.

She is survived by her son, Ryker Healey; father Randy Davis (Emily) of Marion; step-mother “mom” Lisa Tucek Davis (Orville) of Metropolis; grandmother Mary Cripps of Jonesboro; step-brothers Connor Chamness and Jordan (Rachel) Chamness; nieces and nephew; loving uncles and aunts; cousins; and Tom Healey, each of whom individually had a special place in her heart.

There will be a graveside service and celebration of life at a later date to be announced by Jenny’s family.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospital Hospice Center, Paducah, Ky., and SIH Cancer Center through Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
