Janet Walker
Janet Walker, 66, of Makanda, died at 6:26 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1956, in Odessa, Texas, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie Wilson Wright.
She married Dan Walker on Dec. 30, 1985. They spent over 37 blessed years together. He survives.
She worked as a cook at Unity Point School and worked as a playground supervisor. She enjoyed making jewelry and many other crafts in her spare time.
Most of all, she loved her family and her Lord. She was a member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of Alto Pass.
She is survived by her husband, Danny Walker; daughter Tammy Wieseman; stepdaughter Stephanie Teague; stepson Mark Walker; granddaughter Krystina (Austin) Sellars; grandson Dakota Wieseman; step-granddaughters Sophia Teague and Josie Walker; step-grandson Levi Teague; brother Larry Wright; great-grandchildren Gabriel Sellars, Oliver Sellars and Klaytin Sellars; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Parum; and by two brothers, Gary Wright and Jerry Wright.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Billy Carter and James Walker officiating.
Interment followed the funeral service at Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
