James William (Bill) Buster
James William (Bill) Buster, 86, of Clyde, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2023, at home, surrounded by family.
A graveside service with military honors was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, with the Rev. Louis Johnson officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1937, in Jonesboro, the son of Walter and Dana Mallory Buster.
He graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in 1955 and joined the military.
He married Anita Ruth Reagor in Abilene, Texas, on July 7, 1962.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years. They moved to Clyde from Alamogordo, N.M., in 1975. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clyde, Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anita Ruth Buster of Clyde; two sons, James Walter Buster and wife Kelly of Milton, Fla., and Alfred Mallory Buster and wife Angela of Watauga, Texas; one daughter, Alice Marie Lanham and husband Jason of Baird, Texas; one brother, Richard L. Buster of Colorado; one sister, Joan Miller of Anna; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Claude David Foster and Alfred T. Buster; and two sisters, Caroline Page and Dorothy Filter.
