James Eric Myers
James Eric Myers, 49, of Anna, died Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born on Nov. 13, 1974, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Dennis L. and Joanie M. Self Myers.
Mr. Myers is survived by his parents, Dennis and Joanie Myers; his children, John Myers, Harley Myers and Shadow (Curtis) Kerley; a grandson, Blake Brammer; a brother, Christopher (Michelle) Myers; a niece, Kyleigh Myers; nephews Dustin Dillow and John Reynolds; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Dylan Myers.
He served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment.
He loved writing and recording music, mostly Christian songs and songs for veterans, especially those suffering with PTSD.
His other loves were his family, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and helping anyone in need. He was a kind and loving soul who will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Funeral services for Eric Myers were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Jeff Myers officiating.
Interment followed in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Graveside military rites were conducted by the Illinois Army National Guard and Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Anna.
