Helen Holderfield
Helen Holderfield, 84, of Anna, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born on March 19, 1939, in Cobden, the daughter of Claude Everett and Anna Laura Foster Bennett.
She married Robert L. Holderfield on Aug. 10, 1956, in Cobden. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1996.
Mrs. Holderfield is survived by her children, Matt (Ellen) Holderfield, Lori (Joe) Godwin, James (Susan) Holderfield, Anthony “Tony” (Alice) Holderfield and Melissa (Joe) Hicks; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sherry Sloan; sisters-in-law Della (Ed) Petty, Earlene (Ray) Highfield and Charlene Holderfield; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and four brothers, Donald, Henry, Alan and Gary Bennett.
Mrs. Holderfield was a member of the Alto Pass Pentecostal Church. She had strong faith in God. For many years, she played the organ at church and loved to sing.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and cooking. She worked for many years as a certified nurse assistant at local nursing homes, as well as home health. She most enjoyed raising and caring for her family.
Graveside funeral services for Helen Holderfield were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Alto Pass Cemetery, with Ray Highfield officiating. Interment followed.
