Harry M. Verble
Harry M. Verble, 87, of Anna, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1929, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Arlie and Maud Helton Verble.
He married Jewel Pauline Slone on Jan. 20, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant. She preceded him in death on Oct. 3, 2005.
He is survived by his son, Terry (Christie) Verble of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Kevin (Brandy) Verble of Goreville and Callie (Caleb) Baird of Metropolis; two great-grandchildren, Logan Verble and Addison Baird; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jewel Pauline (Slone) Verble; and seven brothers and sisters.
He retired from Amax Coal Company as a mechanic. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Funeral services for Mr. Verble will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, today, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the McGinnis Cemetery.
