Harold Wayne Hubbs
Harold Wayne Hubbs, 88, of Anna, died Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Integrity Healthcare of Anna.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1936, in Anna, the son of James Ray and Florence Haire Hubbs.
He married Lawanda Mae Turner on Nov. 23, 1983. She preceded him in death Sept. 27, 2022.
Mr. Hubbs was a longtime member of the United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek and Anna Heights Baptist Church in Anna.
He worked as a heating and air contractor and was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 36 out of St. Louis for over 50 years.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, often riding with his brother, Tom. He loved his dog Toto and enjoyed watching Anna-Jonesboro Community High School sports.
He had a big heart and was so proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his children, LaDonna Dexter, Sheryl Shelton, Laurie Van Buren, Steve Hargrave, Melissa Meskenas and Tim (Angie) Hargrave; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded by his parents; his wife, Lawanda Mae Hubbs; a son, Steven Hubbs; and siblings Doris, George Thomas “Tom” and Mae Hubbs and Betty Carter.
Funeral services for Harold Hubbs were at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Cemetery in Dongola.
