Geraldine Dillow
Geraldine Dillow, 94, of Centralia, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at her home.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1923, in Vienna, the daughter of Charles Bean and Lola Henderson Bean.
She married Dorris “D.L.” Dillow on Jan. 1, 1942, in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death on Feb. 8, 2010.
She is survived by three children, Pat Dillow of Centralia, David Dillow of New Baden and Kathy Tucker and husband Lee of Centralia; a beloved granddaughter: Allyna Tucker of Springfield; three nieces and a nephew, Shirley Harris and husband Jim of Anna, Dee Dee O’Bryant Seiker of St. Louis and Wanda Bean of Albuquerque, N.M., and Stephen O’Bryant of St. Louis; several cousins; and special care givers Margaret Guthrie and Haley White, both of Centralia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Dorris “D.L.” Dillow; a son, Michael Dillow; her twin sister, Imogene and husband Bob O’Bryant; a brother, Oel and wife Eloise Bean; and a nephew, Jim Bean.
She worked as a sales clerk at Montgomery Ward and then at JC Penney. She later worked at Warren G. Murray Development Center as an aide and then as supervisor over Cherry Cottage for many years.
She attended Faith Methodist Church in Centralia and then later she became a member of the Rock Church in Centralia. She assisted with establishing the Centralia church from the main Orchardville Church.
She and her husband were members of the Raccoon Ramblers. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services for Geraldine Dillow were Saturday, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Rock Church in Centralia, with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.
