Gerald “Cowboy” Lingle
Gerald “Cowboy” Lingle, age 69, of Anna, passed away at 5:31 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on April 20, 1956 to the late Forrest (Tiny) and Beverly (Sue) Lingle of Anna.
He caught the love of his life in 1979 and he married Julie Wright on Nov. 21, 1981 at Anna Heights Baptist Church, and they spent 44 wonderful years together.
Gerald had one brother, Dana Lingle (infant). Gerald was the only grandson of the late Carl and Thelma Jennings of Balcom.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Lingle of Anna; daughters, Karla and the late Michael Rushing of Dongola, and Jeannie and Raymond Beegle of Anna; special children, Heather and Larry Turner and family, Timothy and Lora Williams and family of Dongola; grandchildren, Scarlet Helton (Dennie) of Johnson City, Mackenzie Beegle (Daniel Bauman), Laura Harris, Taylor Rushing, Raymond (Bubby) Beegle III, and Jacelynn Beegle; special grandchildren, Bryson, Bryleigh, Branson, and Lilly Kay Turner of Anna, also Ashlyn and Jessie Welch and Bradyn Williams of Dongola; great grandchildren, Isaac, Justus, Lane, Linda, and Lillian of Johnson City; sisters-in-law, Patricia Sims of Oklahoma and Karen George of Kingsport, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Derk Wright of Dongola; special nephew, Dalton (Caylar) Wright also of Kingsport, Tennessee; very special friends of the family, Leslie and Thomas Bauman of Dongola; special friend, John Nimmo along with several friends and family that Gerald loved dearly.
Gerald graduated high school in 1974 from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. He went straight from high school to Shawnee Equipment in West Vienna, then went on to work at Anna (Illini) Ready Mix for 17 years.
He was an avid farmer doing what he loved most. He had several nieces and nephews, and several children that called him dad and grandpa who he loved dearly.
His special interest was tractor collecting. He also owned and operated K&J Stuff, selling toy tractors, pillows, blankets, and also managed Fox’s Flea Market and was an avid toy creator when it comes to toy tractors. He also enjoyed pulling tractors and watching bull riding and westerns.
His Love was his family and watching his grandchildren and the bond that he had with each one. He also loved his dogs, Bully and Toto and loved life in general.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025 with Rev. LaRue Parr officiating at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
Interment followed the service at St. John’s Cemetery in Dongola.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Crain Funeral Home for a monument for Gerald.
