Georgia W. Smith

Georgia W. Smith, 82, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2023, at Effingham Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. 

She was born on June 12, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of William and Kathleen Marie Diamond Niblack. 

She married Bill T. Smith. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2019.

She is survived by her children, Delbert Clover Jr. of Cobden, Mark Clover of Jonesboro and Matthew Clover of Jackson, Mo.; a sister, Roberta Johnson of Hord; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and sisters Sandy Morrison and Linda Heck.

She loved quilting. She was the last surviving member of the Busy Hands Quilting Club. She enjoyed music and, in the past, was very active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. 

Funeral services for Georgia Smith were at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment followed in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
