Geneva Jackson

Geneva Jackson, 92, of Jonesboro, died Friday, April 19, 2019, at her son’s home. 

She was born on July 6, 1926, in Wolf Lake, the daughter of Nathaniel and Myrtle Edith Pender King. 

She married Walter P. Jackson on Feb. 21, 1946, in Jackson, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1990. 

She is survived by her children, Patsy (Bob) Butterfield of Georgetown, Texas, Harry (Tina) Jackson of Jonesboro, Jane Tisdale of Josephine, Ala., Walter (Robin) Jackson of Dongola, and Kathy Jackson of Mill Creek; her much loved eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters Fred (Jean) King of Charlotte, Mich., Mary Elkins of Jonesboro, Richard (Tia) King of Jonesboro and Laura (Robert) Spiller of Anna; other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter P. Jackson; a sister, Betty Jean King; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Myrtle King; a brother-in-law, Frankie Elkins; and two sons-in-law, Ben Tisdale and Ivan Milam.

She was a Christian woman and attended the Anna United Methodist Church for many years. She dearly loved her family and all her friends. She loved having family over and hosting big meals and quilting in her spare time. 

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Interment was  in the Jonesboro Cemetery. 

Memorials can be made to the Valley Mission Pentecostal Church.
