Gary R. Honey
Gary R. Honey, 80, of Tamms, Ill. passed away on Dec. 28, 2025.
Affectionately known to all as ‘Gabby,’ he was born Aug. 26, 1945 with a love of the simple life.
His joys included farming, local and U.S. history, aviation and Sunday rides around the county in his pickup. He partook often of rides on his side-by-side and Little Debbie snack cakes.
An Army veteran, he assisted with several tractor restorations including his own Allis Chalmers D17.
A quiet man, he enjoyed seeing his great nephews and nieces, listening to the golden oldies of his youth, and watching classic TV shows, in black and white of course.
Gabby is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jewel Honey, as well as five brothers: Delmar (Red), Douglas, Glenn, Darrell (Bud), and Terry.
He is survived by two sisters-in-law, Edna (Doug) Honey and Rachel (Terry) Honey, his niece Deana Bennett, nephews Todd Honey and Wade Honey, as well as many more nieces and nephews.
Visitation to be held Jan. 8 at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at noon at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms with Pastor Clint Nale to officiating.
Interment will follow the service at McCrite Cemetery in Tamms, Ill.
The family requests with gratitude that Memorials may be made to McCrite Cemetery.
