Faye Marie Eaves
Faye Marie Eaves, 96, of Lick Creek, died Thursday, Feb. 13, at Sunshine Gardens Assisted Living in Marion. She was born Ocb. 7, 1928, in Cobden, the daughter of John H. and Lydia (Trees) Haire. She married James Woodrow Eaves on Oct. 2, 1953, in Anna. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2010,
Faye is survived by her children, Jo Ellen (Steven) Rich of Marion and James David (Kathy) Eaves of Anna; four grandchildren, Steven Matthew (Rebecca) Rich, Jennie Jo Rich, Jaime (Daniel) Welborn, and Janna (Karl) Sweitzer; four great-grandchildren, Brynley and Hailee Welborn and Kendall and Knox Sweitzer; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Eaves; parents; sisters, Elizabeth “Bet” Manus, Irma Blankenship, Maye Stout and Vera Colboth and brothers, Jesse David, Arthur L “Art”, Lowell Ray, John Richard and Charles R. Haire.
Faye was a member of Anna First Christian Church. She was a homemaker, always taking care of her family. Throughout the years, she also took care of many children from other families. Those driving through Lick Creek often saw Faye and twin sister Maye sitting on the front porch watching the cars pass. Faye was a strong supporter of Lick Creek School, always cheering on the Eagles. As sports seasons ended, she and Maye took each team out for a meal to celebrate their accomplishments.
Funeral services for Faye Eaves were be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment followed in the Anna Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Anna First Christian Church Missions Fund. Envelopes will be available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
