Evelyn L. Aguila

Evelyn L. Aguila, 75, of Tamms, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2024, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on April 20, 1948, in Cairo, the daughter of William Walter and Edna Kathryn Ferguson Baine.  

She married Guadalupe Aguila on April 27, 1985. He survives.

She worked at Ensign-Bickford in assembly for many years. She loved being a grandmother and her many furry animals. She had been a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church since April 6, 1958.

Survivors include her husband, Guadalupe Aguila; her sons, Saul (Stephanie) Aguila and Adrian Aguila; grandchildren Faith Marie Story, Jacob Harris and Tristan Paul Aguila; her brother, John Baine; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Steve Baine; an infant brother, Billy Wayne Baine; and sisters Betty Poddig Baine and Shirley Boren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with Robin Reid officiating. Burial followed at McCrite Cemetery.
