Elma Faye Parsons

Elma Faye Parsons, 79, of Mound City, died at 12:53 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Dec. 29, 1943, in Gideon, Mo., the daughter of Ernest Newton and Martha Langley Robinson.

She was a housekeeper and caregiver, but most of all she was a loving mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; five brothers; son-in-law Randy Allen; granddaughter, Natasha Newton; and her husband, Charlie N. Parsons, on Jan. 29, 2023.

Survivors include her son, Aaron Parsons; daughters Yulonda (Rickey) Newton, Sheila Maupin, Sherry Allen, Delana (Terry) Ditterline and Kerrie (James Jr.) Bone; a brother, Buddy Robinson; a sister, Arlene Williams; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating. Interment to follow in the Masonic Cemetery in Olmsted.
