Edwina ‘Eddie’ Murray
Edwina “Eddie” Murray, 81, of Anna, died Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Integrity Healthcare of Anna.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1942, in Leighton, Ala., the daughter of Alfred Comer and Lassie Mae Prince Landers.
She was married to Harry Lee Palmer for 25 years and later married Bobby Murray for 25 years until his passing.
She worked at Bunny Bread until its closing, at which time she went to Shawnee Community College and earned her food service degree. She then worked a the JR Center in Anna as a cook and worked as an in-home caregiver.
She was also a magnificent seamstress, a hobby that she turned in to a business, and could do anything from embroidery to horse saddles to prom dresses.
She loved to babysit her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She participated in the Helping Hands Quilters Group and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Cobden.
Survivors include her daughters, Eileen (Wes) Wilkins and Cindy (Tim) Chamness; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Madalyn), Taylor, Josie, Katelynn and Jenna; five great- grandchildren, Jalynn, Kenzie, Reece, Jack and Andi; and siblings Welton, Jean, Jerry and Peggy.
Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Gary, and many close friends.
Funeral services were at noon Tuesday, July 16, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro. The Rev. Carl Dillow officiated.
Interment followed the funeral service at Casper Cemetery near Anna.
