Earl Edward Stuart

Earl Edward Stuart, 69, of Columbia, Ala., died Saturday morning, June 10, 2023, at his home. 

Mr. Stuart was born and reared in Cairo. He served in the U.S. Army and later retired from Army National Guard after 22 years service. For most of his lifetime, he was employed as a roofer and carpenter. Mr. Stuart moved to Columbia, Ala., in 2021.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Ryan Stuart (Nicole) of Anna and Patrick Stuart of Germany; a sister, Carolyn Sue Stuart-Foster of House Springs, Mo.; step-sisters Esther Laird and Vicky Schaffer; a stepbrother, Arthur Poole; grandchildren Bryan Stuart, Ian Stuart, Orlando Clark, Olivia Clark and Lenny Stuart; several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William Richard Stuart; his mother, Leatrice Mae Harrison Stuart Vishino; a brother, Richard Eugene Stuart; a daughter, Mandy Clark; and a sister-in-law, Mary Rose Stuart-Foster. 

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, today at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, today, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.

Interment with military honors will follow the funeral services at 1 p.m. at Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City.
