Douglas Michael Long

Douglas Michael Long, 69, of Villa Ridge, died at 10:53 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, at his residence, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on June 26, 1954, in Olmsted, the son of Douglas and Mary Lou Turner Long.

He was a self-employed contractor. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. He enjoyed being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Turner-Kurtz; his father, Douglas Long; and a daughter, Rhonda Smith

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Long; daughter Candy Woodworth; son Chad Long; sisters Judy (James) Webb, Brenda (Dennis) Snider and Marci (Mike) Sharp; brothers Jerry (Carolyn) Kurtz and Doug (Whitney) Long; grandchildren Chelsey Cato, Alexis and Jordan Rhymer, Natalie Long, Clayton Long, Ethan Woodworth, Kerra Criddle, Elye Long, Meegan Long, Lailah Hyte and Addie Long; many great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Caledonia Community Church in Olmsted.
