Donnie W. Hurford

Donnie W. Hurford, age 80 years, a resident of Vienna, Ill., passed away Thursday morning, May 15, 2025, at 3:13 a.m., at Hillview Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center in Vienna.

Donnie was born Sept. 1, 1944 in Anna, Ill. He was the son of Thomas W. and Helen (Bloodworth) Hurford. 

Donnie is survived by: two sisters – Dale (Mike) Miller of Buncombe and Loretta Archey of Jonesboro; a brother – Steven Meier of Grantsburg; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many dear friends.

Donnie especially cherished his faithful canine companion, Cry Baby.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Helen Hurford; two sisters – Juanita Bell Watkins and Shirley Meier; and a brother – Raymond Bell.

Donnie had been employed in the agriculture industry and assisted in the installation of grain bins. He had also worked as a laborer at the former Cobden Box Mill. 

Donnie enjoyed fishing. He was very artistic and was a talented artist. Donnie enjoyed painting and sketching.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 20, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Donnie’s brother-in-law, Pastor Mike Miller, officiated. 

Burial was in the McGinnis Cemetery in Union County Illinois.
