Donna ‘Renee’ Anderson
Donna “Renee” Anderson, 65, of rural Grand Chain, died at 11:09 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1958, at Union County Hospital in Anna. She was the daughter of Donald D, and Earlene Turner Hileman.
On Aug. 16, 1983, she married Dennis “Tinker” Anderson in Boaz. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Angela (James) Jones of Grand Chain, Heidi (Greg) Poland of Cypress and Dustin (Mary) Anderson of Grand Chain; seven grandchildren, Sabrina Hinkle, Savana (Taustin) Wise, Samuel Hinkle, Mason Poland, Sadie Hinkle, Jaylea Anderson and Reagan Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Mariska Nutter, Adler Wise and Byron Wise; a brother, Larry (Debbie) Hileman of Vienna; her uncle, Roy D. (Maureen) Hileman of Keller, Texas; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was anticipating the birth of a great-grandson, Grayson, due in May 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, JoAn Hileman; and an aunt, Mary Karraker.
She was a graduate of Vienna High School. She received a degree in nursing from Shawnee Community College. She was a registered nurse. She was employed as a care plan coordinator and director of nursing at Hillview Health Care Center. She also worked at Southgate Health Care Center in Metropolis, the Union County Hospital (Long Term Care Unit) and had served as the director of nursing at Daystar Nursing Home in Cairo.
She was a member of the Cypress Cemetery Committee. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery and spending time with her family. When her children were young, the family spent many happy weekends along the Ohio River. Her beloved canine companions were named Little Joe and Lucy.
A service honoring the life of Renee Anderson was conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Pastor Billy Thomas officiated. Burial was in the Cypress Cemetery.
