Donald Vines

Donald Vines, 83, of Cobden, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Cobden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. 

He was born on Aug. 27, 1939, the son of Lloyd and Edna Landis Vines. 

He married Bonnie Davis June 30, 1963. 

Mr. Vines is survived by his wife, Bonnie Vines of Cobden; daughter Jenni (Jake) Baggott of Dodgeville, Wis.; grandchildren Robbie Williams, Ryan, Alisha and Richard Baggott; many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Virginia Adams, Joyce Barnhart, Linda Hopp and Jean Marie Vines; two brothers, Lloyd Vines Jr. and James W. Vines. 

Mr. Vines worked for 22 years at Southern Illinois University as a groundskeeper, retiring in 1999. He enjoyed going to farm auctions in his spare time. He served in the U.S. Army.

Private family services were held at Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. The family requests that those who want to pay respects to Mrs. Bonnie can visit her at the Cobden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
