Deryl Dean Ross
Deryl Dean Ross, 74, of Gilbertsville, Ky., died Sunday, July 16, 2023, at his home.
Mr. Ross was born on Sept. 11, 1948, in Long Beach, Calif, the son of Jerry and Nadine Halbin Ross.
He served as a corporal in the U.S. Marines Corps and was a Vietnam veteran.
He made a career as a heavy machinery sales consultant, primarily forklifts. He enjoyed boating on Kentucky Lake and playing pool.
Mr. Ross was a member of Marshall County Elks Lodge No. 2707, the Briensburg T.L. Jefferson Masonic Lodge No. 401 and the VFW and Auxiliary Post No. 1084. He was also a member of Twin Lakes Worship Center.
He is survived by one daughter, Brandi Nicole Ross (Joe Seavers) of Benton, Ky.; one son, Lyman Douglas Ross (Stephanie) of Oahu, Hawaii; two brothers, Daniel Harpole of Red Bud and Michael Harpole of Bloomington; five grandchildren, Jake Carnahan (Whitney), Ashley Dunning (Andy), Jadalyn Ross, Tyler Walker (Taia) and Jonathan Ross; four great-grandchildren, Bellamy Walker, Miles Dunning, Riley Carnahan and Kai Carnahan; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Lea Jones Ross; two brothers, Lyman Cartner and Brian Harpole; and his parents.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann in Benton, Ky., with Bro. Jeremy Short officiating.
