Deidre Lynn Loven
Deidre Lynn Loven, 64, of Karnak, died at 1:56 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.
She was born on Oct. 15, 1958, in Metropolis.
She was a 1976 graduate of Joppa High School and a 1978 graduate of Shawnee Community College in Ullin. She attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
She had retired after 24 years of service as a teacher’s aide for the Century School District in Ullin. She loved her students like they were her own.
She was a member of the Belknap Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed scrapbooking and collecting snowmen.
She is survived by her brother, Mark (Pam) Loven of Metropolis; a cousin, Marlan (Barbara) Hight of Grand Chain; her church family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Byron and Betty Hayes Loven; and an aunt and uncle, Pauline and Pete Hight.
Funeral services honoring the life of Deidre Lynn Loven were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 12, at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The Rev. Kenneth Capps officiated. Interment followed at the Anderson Cemetery in Boaz.
