Darwin Billingsley
Darwin Billingsley, 85, of Buncombe, died at 8:10 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2017, at Union County Hospital in Anna.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1932, in Union County, the son of Harold and Zella Stokes Billingsley.
He married Dallie Lillian Schoolfield on March 21, 1954, in Elgin. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2007.
He is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Anthony) Nixon of Buncombe; a son, David (Kim) Billinglsey of Salisbury, N.C.; four grandchildren, Andrew Nixon, Austin Billingsley, Alex Billingsley and Caroline Billingsley; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dallie Lillian Billingsley; a son, Frank Billingsley and a sister, LouEtta Rion.
He owned and operated the Frost Top in Anna for many years. He retired from the State of Illinois as a cook. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and quail hunter and over the years raised bird dogs. He loved the outdoors, gardening, riding his four wheeler and helping people in need.
Funeral services for Mr. Billingsley were at 1 p.m. Monday, April 3, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Bobby Richardson officiating. Interment was in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek.
