Darrell Warren

Darrell Warren, age 87, of Anna, formerly of Olive Branch, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

He was born on July 1, 1938, the eldest of 11 children, to Elige and Lois (Robison) Warren in Pulaski, Ill. On Sept. 27, 1963, he married Pearl Simmons.

Darrell was owner and operator of Warren’s Tree Service, staring when he was 14 and working until his late 70’s providing jobs for dozens of people needing work. 

He also worked as a structural steel painter of bridges and water towers. 

Darrell was a six-time National Goose Calling Champion and worked as a hunting guide and goose caller for Patton and Marlin Hunting Clubs in Alexander County.

Survivors include his wife of over 62 years, Pearl; five siblings, Shirley Dunn, Danny Warren, Rick Warren, Terry Warren, and Tim Warren; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was always the proud big brother of the family, looking out for his siblings and their children in any way he could. He would drop whatever he was doing if one of them needed help.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Warren, Buddy Warren, Link Warren, Clint Warren; and sister, Deloris Martin.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 5 with Rev. Ken Wilson officiating at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. 

Interment was held on Tuesday, April 6 at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill.

The family requests with gratitude that memorials be made to Pearl.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms is in charge of arrangements.
