Claude Lynn Anderson

Claude Lynn Anderson, 70 of McClure, Ill. passed away on June 1, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center.

On Oct. 2, 1954, in Anna, Ill. Lynn was the 6th child born to Edward Dwain and Frieda Ermal (Dickerson) Anderson. 

Lynn retired from Union Pacific Railroad in 2005 after 31 years of being a railroader and Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Local #965. 

Lynn was a lifelong resident of rural McClure. He was very passionate about family genealogy and discussing genealogy with his cousins. Lynn enjoyed gardening and bargain shopping at any thrift store. 

Born of the Baptist faith, Lynn loved gospel music and gospel singing. 

Lynn is survived by his sister; Bernell Abercombie, of Tamms, Ill., sister in laws Joyce Anderson, of Anna,Ill. and Pam Anderson, of Percy, Ill., as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family and his beloved cat Savanna. 

Lynn was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Dwain Bryant, Dale Irvin, David Lee, Clinton Gordon and Larry Lyle. One sister in law Georgia and brother in law Bob Abercombie. 

Funeral services were held on Friday, June 6. Burial was at Cumins Cemetery in rural McClure, Ill., following funeral services. Rev. Buddy Walls officiated
