Christina E. Nickles

Christina E. Nickles, 89, of Anna, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. 

She was born on Jan. 15, 1935, in Jonesboro, the daughter of Christ and Estella Goodman Nickles.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Douglas Meadows; grandchildren Doug Meadows II and Mary Katherine (Terry) Meadows-Oatman; great-grandchildren Alex Meadows, Eldin Myers, Connor Meadows and Olivia Meadows; nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Melody Meadows; and siblings Glenn, Lynn, Willie, Ray, Ellis, Billy and Mary. 

She worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Anna until it closed. Afterwards, she worked for the Union County Sheriff’s Department and Shawnee Development Council. 

She enjoyed watching hummingbirds, but her greatest love was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Private funeral services for Christina Nickles will be held at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment will take place at the Jonesboro Cemetery.
