Catherine (Kay) Joan Profilet Wild

Catherine (Kay) Joan Profilet Wild, age 81, of Gainesville, Florida passed away on Friday, Jan. 30 at North Florida Hospital.

She was born on July 25, 1944 to Curtis and Marguerite Profilet in Cairo, Ill.

Kay grew up in a large and loving family with ten sisters and three brothers she loved deeply, along with their spouses, Mary Ann and Bill Eblen, Barbara Newberry, Pat and John Sullivan, Marge and Bill Harper, Jan and Dave Burkstaller, Robert "Bob" Profilet and Karen, Martha Ellen and Charles Lankheit, Sara and Pat Lancaster, Donna Profilet, John Profilet, Jim and Debbie Profilet, Ginny and Todd Ponting and Emilie and Kris Martin and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her children, Rene Wild Laws and Eric Wild, son in law William (Bill) Laws, daughter in law Kara Godwin Wild, grandchildren Katie Laws Geomans (spouse Tom Geomans), Ricky Laws (spouse Bridget Bailey), Derek Laws, Tori Laws, Karen Laws, Bill Laws, Eloisa Wild, and Niyah Godwin and her beloved canine companion, Kiko.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Theodore (Ted) Wild.

A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Feb. 14, with Celebrant Father Patrick Nwokoye at St. Patrick’s Church in Cairo, Ill. 

Interment followed the mass at Calvary Cemetery in Villa Ridge, Ill. In lieu of flowers please honor Kay through a donation:
