Carolyn A. Dammann

Carolyn A. Dammann, 94, of Anna, died at 2:05 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2023, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1928, in Ironton, Ohio, the daughter of Wilmer and Evelyn Roberts Frink. 

She married Alfred L. Dammann on Sept. 30, 1951, in East St. Louis, and they had celebrated over 71 years of marriage. Al preceded her in death on March 29, 2023.

She graduated from Millikin University with a degree as a licensed dietician. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Anna.

She is survived by her sons, Steve (Sue) Dammann of Texas and Bruce (Cathy) Dammann of Wisconsin; grandchildren Nick (Mallory) Dammann of Illinois, Alex Dammann of Wisconsin and Emma (Sam) Perreth of Oregon; step-grandchildren Tom (Diane) Earle of Texas and Dan (Amanda) Earle of Iowa; cousins Ann (Mark) Jackson of Illinois and Pete (Susan) Loehr of Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews and very good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al; and a brother, Robert.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, May 8, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro and on Tuesday, May 9, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Anna.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the United Methodist Church in Anna, with Pastor Tim Gossett officiating.

Interment will follow the funeral services at the Anna City Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the United Methodist Church of Anna.
