Carl Higgins

Carl Higgins, 54, of the Belknap community,  died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Sept. 25, 1968, at Union County Hospital in Anna. He was the son of Carrol Higgins and Cora Ayers Higgins.

He had a love for animals and the outdoors. He was best known for his priceless sense of humor and grand generosity. He cared a lot about his friends and family and would always offer to help those who needed him. His most loved hobbies were fishing and playing bingo.

He attended Vienna High School. He had been employed as a cook and assistant manager in area restaurants.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Higgins.

He is survived by his father, Carrol Higgins of Belknap; and a sister, Kenya Gorham of Hickory, Ky.

Funeral services were at noon Thursday, March 30, at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. Pastor Gerell Cain officiated. Burial was in the Belknap Masonic Cemetery.
