Brian P. Macy

Brian P. Macy, 71, of Anna, and formerly of Patchogue, N.Y., died Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Jan. 8, 1952, in Port Jefferson, N.Y., the son of Thomas J. and Ann D. O’Brien Macy. 

He married Jasmin “Jess” Macy on April 3, 2001.

Mr. Macy spent his working years as a home builder/finish carpenter on Long Island, N.Y., and in Anna. 

He was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge, where he devoted much of his time to the Elks and the community.

Survivors include his daughter, Lynn P. (Scott) Gelinas of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; his son, Matthew P. (Kerri) Macy of Anna; stepdaughter Lucinda “Cindi” Swan of Anna; stepson Matthew T. (Shannon) Swan of Blue Point, N.Y.; stepson Thomas D. (Sandy) Swan of Blue Point, N.Y.; grandchildren Parker Gelinas, Riley Gelinas, Alexa Macy, Thomas Macy, Cadence Ross, Kennedy Comfort, Brooke Yander, McKenna Yander, Sarah Swan, Nate Swan and JT Swan; brothers Michael Macy and Drew Macy; cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ann Macy; a brother, John Macy; his wife, Jasmin “Jess” Macy; and a stepdaughter, Mary-Kate.

A Celebration of Life was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Anna-Jonesboro Elks Lodge No. 1641 in Anna.

Memorials can be made to the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation or may be made at Anna-Jonesboro Elks Lodge No. 1641. 

Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
